This rough willemite and sphalerite specimen fluoresces yellow under longwave (LW 365nm UV light) and green under shortwave (SW 254nm) UV light. It also has some phosphorescence (after glow) under Longwave UV light only. The sphalerite is phosphorescent under LW UV light only (after glow).
*You will need a filtered Shortwave (SW 254nm) UV light or a Longwave (LW 365nm) UV light in order to see the fluorescence shown in the pictures.*
*Regular black lights don't usually work for fluorescent minerals, so make sure you use the proper indicated UV light*
*Please keep in mind that the higher the UV light's wattage is, the brighter the fluorescent reaction will be*

This specimen was photographed using a 36 watt filtered shortwave (SW) ultraviolet lamp and a Convoy S2+ Longwave (LW) UV light. The pictures have not been retouched.
Shortwave lamps have a range of 200-280 nm. (254 nm are recommended)
Longwave lights have a spectrum of 315-400 nm and are also called UVA. (365 are recommended)
