This one of a kind mineral specimen from Canada features fluorescent calcite, blue sodalite, and magnetite. Under a filtered longwave (365 nm) UV light, the sodalite fluoresces pale yellow. Under a shortwave uv light (sw 254nm) or midwave uv light (mw 310nm) the specimen fluoresces a better and brighter fluorescence showing some deep orange/red colors.
✦ UV Requirements:
A true filtered shortwave or midwave uv light (sw 254nm / mw 310nm) is necessary to see the best fluorescence in this specimen.
If your UV light isn’t as strong as the ones we used for photography, the fluorescence may appear dimmer or slightly different. Brightness and color intensity depend on the wattage and quality of your UV light.
